Harvest offers a handful of classes that are not only fun but educational. We want to help our community build greater self-sufficiency. Our classes are family-oriented and empowering! We offer youth enrichment, community outreach, and adult education classes.

Join Gritty Farm Girl, Gina Walker, and Harvest for some treats and a lesson on how to be more self-sustainable through homesteading skills.

Couples Cooking Classes
Have a romantic night at Harvest with your significant other and learn how to make a dish from scratch! (Minimum of 3 couples )

Children's Gardening Club
Here at Harvest, every first and third Saturday is dedicated to a lesson led by the Brazoria County Master Gardeners. All are welcome to come and learn about the skills of gardening. Children can look forward to becoming certified Junior Master Gardeners! The master gardeners love to teach people of all ages how to maintain a bountiful garden. (9:30 - 11 am / 11 am - 12 pm Q&A)

Mommy & Me
All family members are welcome to our Mommy and Me community event. We offer open sensory time for the little ones and a coffee bar for the grown-ups to enjoy together. With fun crafts and a good snack, it is always a fun and relaxing time! Wednesday (10-11 am open play time/ 11 am -12 pm Family craft activity) Classes will start again the week of September 16th, 2024.

Weekday Enrichment
Join us in serving our homeschool community with education in life, environment, agriculture, and food science. Tuesday from 2-3:30 pm we learn a fun science or art lesson that goes along with the season. (Taught by TEA-certified science teacher, Harvest staff member, and volunteers.) Classes will start again the week of September 16th, 2024.

Children's Garden Club
Join us for a lesson taught by The Master Gardener’s of Brazoria County. Through their curriculum called “ Learn, Grow, Eat, and Go”, they teach gardening skills and nutrient lessons, while promoting physical activity and community engagement. A healthy snack that contributes to the lesson are provided, and a garden journal helps them keep track of all of their lessons throughout the course.

Open Garden Play
Today we will start off with a farm walk to go see the pigs! Then on the way back we will stop into the watermelon field and see if there is any watermelon ready for picking. Lunch buddies will be served at 11 am, this program helps kids learn to assemble a full, healthy, happy plate. The upstairs play area is open till 11 am.

This weeks summer focus is Food and Fiber Fun. We will be having lunch buddies at 11 am, this program teaches children how to build a full, healthy, happy plate. It is encouraged to play in the children’s garden first because of the intense heat in the evening, the upstairs play area is open till 11 am.

Packing Party
The Hunger Free Coalition is hosting a packing party for it’s Summer Feeding Program. During this volunteer community we will be packing grocery bags for over 100 kids for the rest of the summer. This program helps feed children for the weeks that are not provided by public schools and other programs.

Open Garden Play
For the beginning of Open Garden Play we will be talking about our Aero and Aquaponic systems. We want to encourage the kids to learn about different ways to grow fruits and vegetables. We will be planting new plants into both systems and exploring how they manage to provide the proper amount of nutrient for the plants to grow without soil. Lunch Buddies will be provide at 11 a.m. this program helps teach children how to assemble a full, healthy, happy plate.

For this weeks summer fun we will be exploring dinosaurs and dirt donuts. We will be serving lunch through lunch buddies at 11 a.m. This program encourage kids to eat healthy and how to form a full, healthy, happy plate. Garden play should be before lunch because the heat gets worse after lunch, but the upstairs play area is open till 11 a.m.

Canning Party
Learn how to can jelly and pickles. Lunch will be provided along with a complimentary jar of your choice! Everything that is canned during this event goes toward our Harvest Pantry fundraising project. You can purchase any of our deliciously preserved goods onsite or at local farmers markets we vendor.

Hunger Free Summit
The goal of our June 20, Hunger Free Summit, is to bridge the gap between organizations that are also addressing food insecurity in Brazoria County. The Hunger Free Summit is free to attend. Space is limited, so please register soon. This event is a great opportunity to not only explore resources in our local food production and donation systems, but to also be a part of important discussions in innovative food solutions! We are excited to have our board member and keynote speaker, Dr. Vincent Solis!

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner & Community Talent Show
We are having a collaborated event for our community. We are serving dinner to show appreciation to our volunteers. If you have ever volunteered with us before you are welcome to come to this dinner. For our entertainment for this evening we will also be having our community talent show. We cannot wait to see you all there for this eventful evening.

Mommy & Me
We are hosting a garden tea party and picnic to end our spring classes this year. We will supply the materials to make your own personal tea bags. Make sure to bring a lunch that fits your nutritious needs and any other supplies you would use for a picnic. We might even pull out the chickens to join the party.

Talent Show Rehearsal
We are so proud of all of our students who signed up to showcase their talents with us. This will be our last rehearsal before the talent show on Thursday May 29, 2025. If your child is interested in participating, this will be the last day to sign-up.

Open Vlolunteer Saturday
On the first and the third Saturday of each month, Harvest opens up our farm for volunteers to come out and help in all kinds of agricultural ways. If you have any gardening questions today is a great day to come and ask us! We love sharing our knowledge and growth with the community, be a part of our mission to fight food insecurity and make your mark.

This week we will be working on a mural for the children’s garden. Bring your family to join our mural and forever be a part of the Harvest family. On this day we will also have Save The Children present so they can see the impact the garden that they funded has had on the Harvest community.

Open Volunteer Day
Here at Harvest we like to engage our community and let them be a part of everything we do. Join us for an open volunteer day and make a difference on the farm. You are also welcome to explore all the different parts of the farm.

Since we will be having a special guest teacher for earth day next week we will be celebrating early. We are going to be trim up some shrubs for the kids to practice topiary on and will have a guest speaker from a local nursey.
